About Stamford 611

So what is Round Table?

It is an association of Clubs for young men aged between 18 and 45, providing a range of social and community service related opportunities for its members. Members come from all walks of life, they make a difference in their local communities and have a great deal of fun in doing so. For the mobile professional of today, it is an ideal organisation for meeting like minded young men, getting involved locally and building a network of friends whilst serving the less privileged. What does Round Table do?

The focal point of Round Table is its regular meetings. We meet twice a month, usually in the evening and usually with a meal. The meetings are an opportunity for many types of activity such as a guest speaker, visit to a place of interest (e.g. local brewery), quizzes, debates, talks on various subjects, or a sports evening. They frequently include discussions on forthcoming social and service projects.
Visitors and potential members will always be made particularly welcome, as Round Table provides an ideal opportunity to establish new friendships and build networks.

Fund Raising

We are keen to fund raise to boost the coffers of our Community Fund. We have a number of regular features – First trip of the year in Fancy Dress Mid Lent Fair collection – we all adorn our best (or worst) outfits and travel to the watering holes of Stamford to kindly request donations from the good people of Stamford. We also organise the Stamford Meadows Car Show – this is a great day where
after the initial hustle and bustle of getting the cars on the site we can enjoy a relaxed and fun filled day and see some tremendous cars – this show is gathering quite a momentum and regularly attracts over 400 classic vehicles. Other fund raising ideas are regularly discussed and ventured upon.

Stamford & District entertaining & yearly activities…

A sample of the activities we have done or are going to do this year:

Bowling, Croquet, Darts, Fly Fishing, Golf, Laser Quest, Petanque Tennis, Quad Biking, Sailing, Scalextric, Shooting, Skittles, Walking Trips etc

Whilst not exactly a troop of Olympiads we are fairly active and some of us excel in the arts of talking and making merriments especially when oiled with the right balance of friends and maybe a glass or two.
